Institut pro byzantská a východokřesťanská studia / Institute for Byzantine and Eastern Christian Studies, o.p.s. (IBYZ o.p.s.) has its seat in Olomouc, Czech Republic, where it is registered as a society for public benefit, having the identification number 286 16 880.

The Institute runs a library, does academic research, organizes talks, conferences and courses and also issues publications in the fields of theology, anthropology, archaeology, history, philosophy, arts, literature – with emphasis on the Byzantine and Eastern Christian tradition within the various local cultures.

These services are provided equally for all those interested, on the basis of previously defined conditions. The members of the Governing Board and those of the Supervisory Board must not permit the Institute to become involved in any political or religious controversy. IBYZ o.p.s. must conduct its scholarly and educational activities in the spirit of peace and tolerance.
